He is currently an Emeritus Fellow and former Head of CTARA, IIT Bombay. Prof Agnihotri has been a career bureaucrat and has served the Government of India and State Government of Odisha under several capacities. Under his initiative, the Government of Odisha had launched a campaign in November 1998 to eliminate severe malnutrition among children. Later he initiated adoption of the positive deviance approach for tackling child malnutrition.  His commitment lies in area of rapid reduction of child malnutrition, advocacy based on evidence, promote cross sector collaboration, Renewable Energy and Energy Policy, Gender, Rural development and technology scale-up, Use of Mapping Techniques in social Sector planning and Public Policy.

He is currently faculty in Economics area at SJMSOM, IIT Bombay and Associate Faculty at the Ashank Desai Centre for Policy Studies, IIT Bombay. Prior to joining SJMSOM in 2015, he was a post-doctoral researcher at London School of Economics (LSE) and Centre de Sciences Humaines (CSH), New Delhi in the Palanpur village study. Prof.Gaurav continues to run a longitudinal study of agricultural households in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra since his doctoral research at IGIDR began in 2008. He is committed to reducing vulnerabilities of rural households to agricultural and health shocks. He has co-founded the Behavioural Lab at SJMSOM as well as the GISE Hub at IIT Bombay, and has keen interest in data for policy, public health systems, and seeks to contribute to developing impactful dashboards in health and nutrition

She has recently joined as an Adjunct faculty in CTARA, IIT Bombay. She is involved in teaching the course – Contemporary Critical Issues in Technology and Development – Child malnutrition in India. Dr. Rupal is a paediatrician by profession who has been trained in United States and has been in practice for more than 20 years. In 2006, she decided to move back to India and decided to work for underprivileged children in the slums of Mumbai. She observed that there was a widespread lack of awareness on simple techniques of breastfeeding as well as on complementary foods, not only in mothers and health care workers but also among practicing doctors, gynaecologists, paediatricians, nurses and nutritionists. With the support of an NGO, The Foundation of Mother and Child Health (FMCH), she started preventive paediatrics clinics that focuses on 1st 1000 days of a child’s life, starting from conception to 2 years of age. At IIT Bombay, she has also been involved in developing of free of cost videos for the Spoken Tutorial project covering various aspects of nutrition in first 1000 days of life.

He is a retired Professor at CTARA, IIT Bombay and one of the oldest faculty in the Centre. He holds a PhD in Process Engineering from UTC, Compigne France. His research interests include Food Process Engineering, Small Scale Renewable Energy Applications and Agro-based Industrial Development. He has been a recipient of IIChE / Hindustan Dorr-Oliver award for excellence in use of Science & Technology in Rural Development in December, 2004. Over the past seven years, he has been consistently involved in understanding and catering to the needs of Moderately Acute Malnourished (MAM) children in India by developing Ready to use supplementary food products (RuSF) and testing their efficacy in malnourished children in rural and urban slum setting in Maharashtra.

He is currently an Associate Professor at CTARA, IIT Bombay. Prof Arora holds a Ph.D. in Food and Bioprocess Engineering from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, IL, USA. His research interest includes Food Processing, Process Design and Development, Bioenergy, Bioprocessing, Downstream Processing, Membrane separations, Microwave Technology, Paper and Pulp Engineering. During a short span of time, he has been able to develop a strong research team who have been working on various issues catering to innovative techniques in food product development, process engineering, nutraceuticals, etc. and have received many accolades.

He is currently working as Senior Research Scientist at GISE lab, Computer Science Department, IITB. Prof. Shah is an alumnus of IIT Bombay and has worked as faculty at VJTI, Mumbai for almost three decades. He has worked on several projects related to e-governance, ICT, technology transfer, etc and has conducted various workshops and training for Government of Maharashtra, NGOs and Government of India. His expertise lies in digitisation and QGIS mapping.
